Great news! You're thinking about opening your investment account on The Big Exchange.
Before you get going there are a couple of things to take note of. There are quite a few decisions to be made and it is always best to be prepared. During this journey you are going to be asked:
If you are unsure on any of the above, please use our website for more information or ask us here about what is required before you get going.
Our journey is accessible via our secure site www.tbeinvestor.com you can find this via any of the Sign Up or Invest Now buttons on our homepages. If you're ready to get started click Open an Account. On the other hand, if you just want to see what's on offer, click Take a look.
You must be a UK resident to open a Big Exchange investment account. So, be prepared and have your National Insurance Number and bank details on hand.
Accounts are what you store your investments in. We have 3 options: an ISA, a JISA, and a GIA. You can learn more about them here.
You can either choose to open a completely new account, or transfer one in from another provider. It's up to you.
Once you have chosen the account that is right for you, we can move onto step three.
Now we're getting into what makes us unique. When choosing investments on The Big Exchange you can make the choice to choose a ready-made Bundle or pick your own funds. Learn more about each option here.
On The Big Exchange every investment has been rated for its positive impact on people and the planet and you can click into each fund to See Details of its impact assessment and medal rating.
To choose an investment, click Add to basket. You will then see your current investment selection in your basket at the bottom of the screen. Hover your mouse or click the shopping cart icon in the red footer at the bottom of the screen to see your full basket.
Once you have chosen your investments, press Continue and you will be asked to choose between making a lump sum payment, setting up a regular contribution via a direct debit, or even doing both!
A lump sum payment will require you to have a Mastercard or Visa debit card, we do not accept credit cards.
The next page you will see is a form where you will be asked to complete your personal details; name, address, date of birth, contact information and National Insurance Number. We need this information to verify who you are and to legally set up your account.
On this page you will also be asked to set up your username and password. There are instructions to help you on the screen but we have an FAQ available on that here.
Depending on if you have selected a lump sum or a regular payment you will be asked for your debit card details. Please select either MasterCard or Visa from the dropdown and enter your details. We do not store this information and encrypt it before contacting our payment processor.
We will also ask every customer for your bank details. This is so we can confirm a valid bank account for you to withdraw your cash into and also for us to check you are who you say you are.
Once you have completed your payment details you will be asked to review your investments. If you want to make any changes you can click on the edit icon in the top right hand corner. If not, you can complete your investment and open your account.
If you are making a lump sum payment with your debit card, you may be asked to authenticate your payment with your bank.
That’s it, you can now log in while we make your investments happen!
